Responsibility details are not available.
The Armored Special Carrier is an injection-molded plastic kit from the science fiction range of the Japanese company Bandai. As with the other models from this manufacturer it is a snap-fit structure: the parts are nipped off the sprues, cleaned up and snapped together, with no glue. The sprues tend to be molded in several colors of plastic.
According to the name this is an armored carrier, that is a transport machine, a category of equipment common in mecha worlds that carries combat machines, resupplies their armament or serves as a mobile base. The subject here is not real equipment but a fictional design, so what is judged is the silhouette, how finely the armor is broken up and any articulation of the mechanisms. Whether the machine can be combined with other models of the same range differs between sets of this kind, and the instructions in the package decide.
The large flat parts of armored hulls deserve attention while being cut off: nip a little from the part and true the remainder of the gate up with a knife and a sanding sponge, or a white mark will be left on the edge. The model can be built straight out of the box, but with equipment of this kind spraying is exactly what pays off: a primer evens the undercoat out, the base shade can be lifted with a light overspray from above and a matte varnish suppresses the artificial sheen of plastic. Large areas are brought to life by restrained weathering: a dark wash into the engraved lines, fine chipping on the edges with a dry brush and a light dust on the lower parts. Apply stickers or decals over dry gloss varnish, so that the edges do not go matte.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
