A set of diamond files in various shapes with a 150 grit. Made for hard materials, where an ordinary file quickly loses its bite.
Responsibility details are not available.
Diamond files have an abrasive layer formed by grains bonded to a metal body, so they cope even with materials that blunt an ordinary file. They come into their own when truing metal and resin parts, enlarging openings, leveling a glued seam and adjusting the shape of a part that does not fit its place. A 150 grit is one of the coarser grades, so it cuts briskly and the mark it leaves has to be sanded out with a finer tool or with abrasive paper. The various shapes in the set let you reach into corners, into grooves and onto rounded surfaces.
Draw the file in one direction and press only lightly; pressure does not make the abrasive layer work faster, it only wears it away sooner. A file cannot cut through a part, so use a saw or a blade to divide one. On soft plastic, expect the grains to clog; abrasive paper is usually better there. On metal and resin, working wet helps: water carries the dust away and the surface stays smoother. Do not breathe in the dust from sanding resin, and wipe the area down after working.
After working, clean the file with a brush against the direction of the clogging and let it dry. Store the tools so that they do not rub against each other.
This is a tool, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The number of pieces in the set and the dimensions are stated on the packaging.
