Master Tools Basic etching parts, circles 1

A photo-etched sheet with a set of basic circular elements from the Master Tools brand. It is not an accessory for one particular model but a universal material from which a modeler picks a suitable element and uses it wherever a missing detail needs adding or a coarsely molded plastic part needs replacing. The set is one of several items in the same range which differ from one another by number; which specific dimensions and shapes each item contains is stated on the box.

Use

• Adding circular detail to the hull, the body or the interior of a model
• Replacing simplified plastic parts with a finer metal element
• Building parts of your own and modifying a model beyond the contents of the box
• Work on dioramas and mock-ups where a repeating small shape is needed

How to work with photo-etched parts

Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with nippers, otherwise the edge will deform. They are bent best in a photo-etch bender or between two razor blades; run the bend along the etched groove. They are glued with superglue applied in the smallest possible quantity, and on larger areas it helps to apply the glue with a pin. Before painting, degrease the metal parts and use a primer meant for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold.

Who the set is for

The set is intended for modelers who like to modify a model and add parts of their own, and for diorama builders. Work with photo-etched parts calls for patience, a sharp tool and at least basic experience, so we recommend it rather to more advanced modelers.

This is a modeling material. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
