BASIC WEATHERING SET

AK Interactive Basic Weathering Set

A set of enamel weathering products from AK Interactive, made for weathering plastic models of vehicles, aircraft and dioramas. These are ready-made liquid solvent-based effects (washes and effects for grime and traces of service) that are applied with a brush and thinned or wiped back with mineral spirits. It is neither a kit nor an opaque paint.

Use

• A wash brings out detail - it runs into recesses, engraved lines and around rivets and bolts.
• The effects create traces of dust, running and grime on vertical and horizontal surfaces.
• It is applied with a brush over a matte, thoroughly dry clear coat; the excess is blended and taken off with mineral spirits.
• Ideal as an introduction to enamel patina - you learn to control the intensity of the tone and of the transitions.

Who the set is for

For beginners and advanced modelers who want to give a model a realistic patina without assembling the effects bottle by bottle. Suitable for military equipment and civilian models alike.

The product is modeling material, not a kit. It contains a flammable solvent - work in a well-ventilated space, away from open flame and out of the reach of children.
