A plastic kit of the Batmobile from the Japanese brand Bandai, set apart in the name by the suffix The Batman Ver. That suffix is precisely the distinguishing feature: under the same name Batmobile the manufacturer also makes a second version with a different designation in parentheses. So choose by the exact wording of the parentheses. The build goes ahead snap-fit style; the parts are colored in the plastic and snap together without glue.
With comic book cars the opposite approach to sports cars is often the right one. Whereas a polished finish suits a display model, a darkly conceived vehicle looks more convincing in a deep matte or a light semi-gloss, completed with picked-out panel lines and shadows. The model then looks like a heavy piece of equipment rather than a toy, and you do not need an airbrush for that; a paneliner and varnish from a spray can are enough.
First, clean work on the gates: a cut in two stages, leveling with a scalpel and sanding, so that no whitened plastic is left on a colored surface. Then let a thin paneliner run into the engraved lines and wipe off the excess with a cotton bud before it dries. Apply fine dust and rub effects with a dry brush along the raised edges, as a hint only; on a vehicle very little is enough. A unifying matte varnish at the end ties the whole surface together and hides the differences between the individual part colors. Anyone who wants to can of course respray the whole model: degrease, a thin primer, light coats.
The model is built by snapping the parts together; glue is not needed for assembly. Paints, varnishes and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
