The dark Burned Base Primer from the Lifecolor acrylic range serves as a burned undercoat beneath the paint anywhere a dark tone is meant to show from rubbed-through places.
Responsibility details are not available.
Some painting techniques stand or fall by what lies under the covering coat. When a dark, burned tone is supposed to show from rubbed edges and damaged areas, someone has to get that tone down there first. That is exactly the part played by this dark primer from the acrylic range of the Italian brand Lifecolor.
How a dark undercoat is worked
First the dark base goes onto the whole part in a thin continuous layer. The covering shade comes over it, also thinly. The moment the surface is then carefully broken through in the exposed places, that burned base appears underneath and the damage looks as though it had depth, not like a painted patch. It will serve just as well where all you want is a dark shadow in deep recesses.
By the fact that nobody notices it. The damage should look as though there were something older and darker under the paint, not like a second coat of color. That is why it pays to lay the dark base down before you decide exactly where the damage will be, and to keep your options open.
For modelers of armored vehicles, diorama builders and everyone who builds on layered painting and wants the dark base ready in advance rather than touched in afterwards.
Mix the contents of the bottle thoroughly before work and apply it in thin layers to a clean, degreased surface.
Keep out of the reach of children. Ventilate while working and close the bottle carefully after use.
