BLUE RAL 5001 – RC MARKER

Green blue to RAL 5001

A pen of the RC Marker range in a shade that the name ties to the RAL chart: the number 5001 in it corresponds to green blue, that is a blue with a clear green cast. Such a shade can be told from an ordinary light blue at first glance and in modeling it suits everywhere that a blue is meant to be subdued and cool rather than cheerful.

Where the color is used

On the small surfaces of vehicles and equipment, on containers and pressure cylinders, on the parts of machines and tools in a workshop diorama, on the work clothes of figures and on markings. It also comes into play as a darker tone for the shadows of blue areas or as a transition between blue and green, where a pure blue looks too raw. The tip lays the color down directly, so a small feature is painted without a palette.

Recommended procedure

• Test the shade on a piece of scrap plastic, as it looks different on different bases.
• Wash and degrease the surface before painting.
• Apply a thin coat, let it dry and repeat it if needed.
• Guide the tip in one direction, as passing over paint that has not dried wipes the mark away.
• Wipe the tip as you work, so that it does not pick up color from the surroundings.
• Store the pen carefully closed so that the tip does not dry out.
