This item is an accessory, not a model. The set belongs to the accessory range of parts from Bandai, which you can recognize by the BPHD prefix in the name, and according to the name it contains lenses for sensors and sights in a green finish. A green eye is a classic motif on combat machines in this field, and it is at the same time the detail everyone notices first on a finished model.
A build without glue
The parts are injection-molded from plastic colored right through and fit without glue, just like all the rest of the brand's kits. Separate them from the sprue with nippers leaving a margin and then trim the rest of the gate with a sharp knife; on colored transparent parts a whitened edge is visible at a glance. The surface of a part can be leveled through progressively finer abrasives and polished with compound.
For the lens to really glow it needs a reflective base: spray the socket beneath it with silver or pearl paint and the light will come back through the part. The shade can be fine-tuned with a thin coat of transparent paint applied from the inside, not on the outer face; the outer surface should stay smooth. If you are varnishing the model, fit the lenses right at the end, because a matte varnish would make them cloudy. And if the green finish does not suit you, the manufacturer also makes the same type of part in another color variant.
