Spikes are among the features that change the overall impression of a model fastest. On the shoulders, the knees or a shield they turn a sleek machine into an aggressive type without your touching its basic shape. The set is an accessory for a model you already own. The number at the end of the name tells the individual variants of the same theme apart, so spikes from different sets differ in both shape and length.
Pre-colored plastic without glue
Bandai injection-molds the parts from plastic colored right through and designs them to hold by snapping into place. The build therefore needs neither glue nor paints. Anyone who wants to go further can paint the spikes separately from the rest of the model: a metallic shade or a dark contrast pays off on them in particular.
Nip the spikes off a small distance away, sand the rest of the gate down and sharpen the tip with a fine file if necessary. Bear in mind that sharp parts on a model are prone to snapping off: place them where they will not get in the way while handling it, and carry the finished model by the torso. If you have small children at home, reckon with the fact that pointed parts are not a toy.
