Hataka British AAC Helicopters paint set is a set of eight Orange Line lacquer paints of seventeen milliliters each for the helicopters of the British Army Air Corps.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of eight bottles of seventeen milliliters each from the Hataka Orange Line range. Note that this is not a water-thinnable acrylic. Orange Line is a lacquer, solvent-based type of paint that is thinned only with the thinner of the same range and is prepared mainly for airbrushing. The set covers the finishes of British Army Air Corps helicopters used from roughly the 1970s on, that is, dark olive and gray shades rounded out with black.
Lacquer paints have excellent coverage, a smooth surface and dry quickly, but they are more aggressive and they are flammable. They are thinned only with the thinner of the same range, never with water or acrylic thinner, and they do not mix with acrylic ranges. Work in a well-ventilated space, ideally with extraction, and use respiratory protection. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Lacquer paints hold well even on bare plastic, but with resin and photo-etched parts a primer coat pays off. Take care when spraying over a finished acrylic or enamel layer, because the solvent can attack it.
The set suits modelers who build British army helicopters and want the shades for a whole scheme in one box. It will be appreciated above all by those who paint with an airbrush and prefer lacquers for their coverage and their resistance under later weathering. For painting with a brush alone, the acrylic range is the better choice.
Flammable; keep out of the reach of children and away from sources of ignition. Ensure effective ventilation when spraying and use respiratory protection.
