A set of four acrylic paints of 17 ml with the British standard shades: Khaki Green No.3, a very dark brown, the SCC No.2 brown and a very dark black tone.
Responsibility details are not available.
The British army designated its coats with the abbreviation SCC and changed them several times during the war. The vehicles first ran in Khaki Green No.3, which from 1942 was replaced by the SCC No.2 brown, and to break the outline up disruptive patches of a very dark, bluish black tone were applied over the base. This set of four covers precisely the transitional period when both base colors met side by side, because repainting was managed only gradually and machines in both treatments could therefore travel in one column.
They were not a net of small dots but large rounded areas stretching along the sides and across the turret, nicknamed mouse ears among modelers after their shape. They were applied with a brush, had a soft irregular edge and their layout was a matter for the workshop, not for a regulation. On a model it is therefore enough to keep to the size and to the fact that a patch runs across edges and projections instead of going around them.
The base color comes out best from an airbrush in two weak passes, and the dark tone is then applied with a brush or freehand with an airbrush. Anyone building equipment of the later years will reach for a separate set of the same brand delimited by the years forty-four and forty-five, because it holds the olive base that came in only afterwards. The set also suits cars and trucks, trailers and artillery, where the same regulations applied as with armored vehicles.
