The number in the name gives the size: the lower it is, the narrower the stroke and the less paint the brush takes up at a time. Size two belongs among the small sizes, as it is a brush for detail, not for surfaces. Mirage Hobby is a brand with a wide range for modelers, from kits to supplies for painting; the brushes are only one of its branches.
On small brushes the life of the brush is decided by the tip, and dried paint ruins that faster than wear does. Wash it out right after work, therefore: acrylics with water or a brush cleaner, enamels and lacquers with the matching thinner. Never let the paint run down to the metal ferrule; it dries there and the bristles open out permanently. Do not take up paint as far as the ferrule, as wetting the tip and part of the bristles is enough. After washing, draw the bristles to a point with your fingers and let the brush dry bristles upwards.
For modelers who work on figures, interiors and small details, and for anyone who finishes a model by hand after spraying with an airbrush. It pays to have more than one of the small sizes and not to use a single piece for everything, as a detail brush you have used for a dark wash will no longer lay down a clean light color.
Paints, thinners and brush cleaner are not included in the package.
