BURGUNDY STONE is a loose Amazing Art aggregate in a wine-red tone for rock outcrops and red gravel areas.
Responsibility details are not available.
Loose aggregate from the stone range of Amazing Art. The designation BURGUNDY points to a wine-red tone; the range covers the red side of the spectrum with further shades as well, but the exact tone and the raw material are not specified by the manufacturer. Red aggregate is useful in modeling practice where an area is meant to look like brick rubble, weathered sandstone, iron-rich earth or a red crushed-stone surface. As the main area of a whole diorama such a saturated color looks forced, which is why it is usually mixed with neutral aggregate.
For modelers who are building a scene with wrecked buildings or with red soil and do not want to take the color all the way with a brush. The aggregate's own color survives even where the surface is later dusted with pigments, and unlike repainted gray gravel no other shade shows through in the scuffed places. With brick rubble that saves work with a dry brush and a whole painting step.
Application: lay it out dry, level it and drip thinned PVA glue through it. Red aggregate may darken after it has been dripped through, so try it first on a spare piece of base and only then decide on the proportion with neutral aggregate. Do not breathe the stirred-up dust in while pouring and do not leave the loose material within reach of small children.
