Butterfly Wing Bolt 3.0 mm is a modeling accessory from the GAS HANS brand - miniature wing bolts of a size of 3.0 mm, with which coarsely cast or missing fastening elements are replaced on a model.

It is an accessory for building models, not a kit. The contents are small wing bolts of a size of 3.0 mm, that is, the type of joint that on the subject is tightened by hand without tools. On models of military equipment they suit the places where something on the original comes apart quickly: brackets for tools and implements, lids of boxes, covers, consoles or load clamps.
An injection mold has its limits. A bolt with projecting wings can be drawn out of it only as a simplified bump, because a sharp undercut would prevent the part from being removed. The resulting shape then acts softly and from close up it gets lost. Dealing with it separately makes sense where it really is visible once the build is finished - on the upper surfaces, on the fenders, on the small doors and everywhere the camera lens points. On the underside of the bed or under the body it is extra work that nobody will appreciate; the original part is amply sufficient there.
First cut the original shape away with a sharp scalpel and level the surface with fine sandpaper, so that the new part does not sit crooked. It helps to indicate the place it is to sit in with a shallow recess from the tip of a drill bit - the part then does not run away while being set in place. Work with tweezers with fine tips and over a light-colored surface, because small parts are substantially harder to find than to fit. Set them in place only after the basic filling and sanding work, otherwise you will knock them off while cleaning the surface up.
