Photo-etched metal parts for the cargo floor of a model of the C-130J Hercules transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. An accessory for builders who want an open cargo hold.
Responsibility details are not available.
The C-130J Hercules is the latest development line of the well-known four-engine turboprop transport aircraft. Its cargo hold is laid out as a through bay with a hinged rear ramp, over the floor of which cargo is hung and moved. The floor is therefore not a smooth board: it carries roller tracks, tie-down points and a number of small fittings that an injection-molded kit usually only suggests.
The set is made up of photo-etched metal parts. It is intended to replace or supplement the floor of the cargo hold on a plastic kit in 1:72 scale.
The parts are attached to the carrier sheet by thin tabs. Cut them with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than breaking them out, and level the remains of the tab with a fine file. Make the bends along the scored lines, preferably in a bending tool or between a blade and a straight ruler. Metal parts are bonded with super glue, and the joints can also be soldered. Degrease the surface before painting and use a primer made for metal, otherwise the paint holds poorly on smooth metal.
The set suits builders who want to finish the model with the ramp open and the inside visible. It calls for experience with photo-etched parts and fine tools. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
