Charon Yellow 6 mm are Paint Forge modeling grass tufts in the yellow part of the range, intended for finishing off terrain on bases and dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is scenic material for creating terrain, not a kit or a part for a model. The tufts are stuck onto the base of a figure, onto the board of a diorama or onto an open area beside a model of hardware, and they give a scene the height and irregularity that scatter material alone cannot achieve. The figure of 6 mm from the name corresponds to the length of the fibers, so a tuft stands for taller, overgrown vegetation.
The name carries the color designation Yellow, that is the yellow part of the range; judge the particular tone from the illustration on the box. Yellow, parched-looking tufts come into their own in summer and late autumn scenes, on the verges of roads, on rubble and also on fantasy bases, where the growth is meant to look unusual. A combination of several shades looks natural — a uniform area of a single color looks artificial.
Seat a tuft with a drop of PVA glue or with cyanoacrylate glue and hold it for a few seconds. Trim the silhouette with small scissors into an irregular shape and comb the fibers out with your fingers, so that the tuft does not sit on the surface like a button. The transition to the surrounding terrain can be fine-tuned with static grass, fine gravel, small leaves or a pigment worked in at the roots. Do not spray the fibers with thick paint — it would stick them together; any unifying of the tone should be done only with a light breath from a distance.
