Responsibility details are not available.
Clapboard is classic horizontal siding in which the lower edge of a board overlaps the top edge of the board below it, so that water runs off the wall to the outside. On this sheet that lapped profile is engraved across the whole area with a spacing of 2.5 mm; the sheet itself is 1.0 mm thick and measures 15 x 30 cm. The width of a board corresponds to roughly 22 cm in HO 1:87 and about 12 cm in 1:48, which is the dimension that ordinary houses and farm buildings really did have. The relief covers the sheet from edge to edge, so you can cut a wall out anywhere.
It most often serves for houses beside the track, signal huts, wooden porches, fences and the side walls of barns. The finer division also works on smaller objects where a coarse grid would look out of proportion, on a pointsman's hut for instance or on the facing of a station shelter. Even narrow offcuts from the edge do not go to waste; they serve for door panels or for the boarding of a hay wagon bed.
The sheet divides well with a sharp knife: score about a third of the way through the thickness and snap off the rest. Cut the window openings out before you glue the part to the framework, otherwise the wall will bow. It is joined with solvent applied with a thin brush into the joint, where capillary action spreads it by itself. Choose the paint according to the age of the building: grayish shades with suggested peeling look more convincing than an even coat, and the engraving comes to the fore after a dry brush.
The unit of sale is one sheet.
