A transparent orange paint from the Cobra Motor range. It is applied over a base and is used for tinting and for backlit shades.
Responsibility details are not available.
A transparent paint does not cover. It does not override the base, it only tints it, so the final tone only comes about in cooperation with the layer underneath. Over a silver or gold base, orange gains a depth and a gloss that an opaque paint cannot imitate, while over a light base it acts more like a saturated filter. The strength of the shade rests on the same thing: the more coats, the darker and more saturated the result. That is exactly why transparent paints are applied a little at a time.
Above all on backlit surfaces and glossy finishes. It comes into its own on the covers of turn signals and reflectors, on the lenses of beacons, on parts meant to shine through and anywhere the surface should be colored and the base should still show beneath it.
Prepare the base smooth and glossy. A transparent layer hides nothing; on the contrary, it brings out every scratch and the grain of matte paint. Spray it in thin coats and let each one become tacky in between, otherwise the paint runs together into patches. Check the saturation against the light as you go, because a dried coat looks different from a wet one. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, that is, the thinner intended for this range.
The thinner, brushes, an airbrush and a model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
