A 15x30 cm sheet with vertical boarding and cover battens. The board spacing is 1.8 mm and the batten stands 0.38 mm above the surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet imitates boarding in which the joint between two boards is covered by a narrow batten. The spacing of the battens is 1.8 mm and the batten itself stands 0.38 mm above the surface, so it casts a shadow of its own and the wall does not look flat even after being sprayed in a single color.
The conversion tells you where the sheet belongs. In 1:87 the spacing works out at roughly sixteen centimeters, in 1:72 at around thirteen and in 1:48 at nine, which matches the real boarding of farm buildings. In large scales such as 1:35 the spacing drops to six centimeters, that is, to fine battening rather than to the wall of a barn.
A corner looks best when two walls are mitered together and the joint is covered with a separate batten cut from strip. Cut the openings for windows before you glue the sheet to the frame, otherwise the thin wall will bend. Choose a lighter base shade, because the shadow under each batten darkens the surface optically; a glaze goes over it and finally drybrushing, which pulls out the edges of the vertical battens and enlivens an otherwise monotonous surface. Suggest peeling paint with patches of bare base along the joints.
The leftover pieces will serve for the door of a shed, the hatch over a cellar or a patch in a roof, because the texture stays readable even on a piece the size of a fingernail.
