Double life counters - Mountain

Double life counters - Mountain

This is a game life counter from the Spanish label Green Stuff World. It is not a modeling part and not an accessory for a diorama but an aid for the gaming table, which holds the current points total for the whole of a game of cards or a board game. The Mountain version is one of the landscape subjects the manufacturer offers the range in. The counter itself the manufacturer describes as double, because one piece serves two players at once.

Why it pays off

In a long game, counting in your head is the first thing to fail. Coins and slips of paper slide about the table, dice turn over and a dispute about who has how much can hold the game up for nothing. The counter holds the value in one place, legible to both players, so the total can be checked at any time without argument and without counting the individual rounds back up.

How to work with it

• set it between the players so that both can see the value equally well
• set the starting total and confirm it out loud before the first turn
• store it in the game box so it does not get lost among the cards and tokens
• a dry cloth is enough for upkeep; do not use solvents

Who it is for

• players of card games with an ongoing points total
• pairs and groups who play regularly
• gaming clubs and tournament tables
• collectors who choose their accessories by subject
