Dry Weeds by Woodland is a scenic foliage imitating dry growth that has finished flowering, a medium for building dioramas and landscape scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a scenic medium for building dioramas, not a finished object and not a kit. The name describes dry weed growth, that is vegetation in the state after flowering or after drying out. Check the shade, the volume and the coarseness of the material on the packaging.
Vegetation is applied only after the terrain, the base coat and the coarse scatter are finished. Dry growth is rewarding in that it immediately places a scene in a season and in a state of neglect: it belongs on unmaintained edges of tracks, on waste ground, in ruins, on spoil heaps and at the edges of fields. It also works excellently as a transition layer between bare soil and living greenery, because it breaks up the sharp boundary between two areas. A little dry growth coming up between paving or rails does more for a scene than a whole area of uniform grass.
Take the material in small amounts, dip the underside into thinned PVA glue and press it into place. Do not try to cover a continuous area all at once, because growth looks natural when it is irregular, with tufts of varying density and empty places between them. Once dry, fix the area with a light overspray of matte varnish or of atomized thinned glue; try the fixing on a small offcut first. Apply the layers thinly and let them dry through.
