A paint in the Basalt Grey shade from the DRYBRUSH line by AMMO, ready for the dry brushing technique. It picks out edges and raised detail on gray and stone surfaces.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a paint intended for the dry brushing technique, that is, for picking out edges, projections, rivets and raised detail. The Basalt Grey shade aims at the cool gray of stone: it suits places where the texture should stand out on the surface without changing the base tone of the model.
It finds a use on the stone and concrete surfaces of dioramas, on paving, walls and rubble, on gray-painted vehicles, on ship decks and on the equipment of figures. It also serves well as an intermediate step that evens out a base that is too dark before moving on to lighter shades. Because it is finishing work, it is applied only over a finished and dry base coat.
Pick up a small amount of paint on a flat, stiffer brush and wipe almost all of it off on a paper towel, until a stroke leaves no continuous trace. Only then run it lightly over the surface, so that the paint catches only on the raised places. Work in layers and rather go over it several times; an excess is harder to remove than paint is to add. For dry brushing the paint is usually not thinned; if you do need a thinner, follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Stir the container before work and close it carefully after use, or it will thicken.
The package contains the paint on its own. Brushes, thinner and cleaner are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
