A mixed material of earth shades, a shaker of 945 cm³. A covering base of terrain that is applied over a colored base.
Responsibility details are not available.
Instead of a single tone, this shaker holds several earth shades mixed together. The purpose is simple: real soil has one color nowhere, and a single-color scatter therefore gives away at close quarters that this is a model. A mixed grain removes that impression with the first layer.
The material is described as a covering layer over terrain colored beforehand. That order makes sense: the base is first coated with brown paint, so that plaster or foam does not shine out of the gaps, and only then does the material come onto it. If it were spread onto a bare light surface, it would show through between the grains and the area would come across as flaking.
945 cm³ fits into the shaker, which corresponds to 57.7 cubic inches, and it is spread through a sieve. The same mixture is sold in a smaller bag with a volume of 886 cm³ as well. A shaker with a sieve is controlled considerably more precisely when shading and when filling in small areas.
The procedure is always the same: glue, spreading, drying, knocking the excess off. What can be done afterward is more interesting. Islands of a different tone or a coarser grade can be spread into a dry layer, by which trodden little paths and ruts arise. The color stays fast, so the shade does not shift even once it is fixed with varnish.
The material itself is supplied. Paint for the base, glue and a mixing container are not part of it and are obtained separately. Terrain is not supplied either, as the mixture is applied to a finished shape of landscape.
