Edging - Dark Green by Woodland are grass tufts intended to be glued onto finished terrain, where they border the edges of tracks, the feet of buildings and transitions between areas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A scenic material in the form of grass tufts. Tufts are not a scatter: they are not sprinkled over an area but set in place individually on finished and fixed terrain as the last layer of vegetation. Look for the height of the tufts and their number on the packaging.
In a real landscape, grass grows tallest and thickest exactly where nobody walks and nothing is mown: along the edges of tracks, at the feet of walls and fences, around posts, by curbs, in the joints of paving and in the corners between buildings. On a diorama these are at the same time the places where two materials meet and where an unsuccessful transition shows. Tufts do this job all at once: they hide the edge between gravel and soil, they soften the place where a model seats onto a base, and they close a scene off. Set them in place, therefore, in a line, but irregularly, with gaps and with varying spacing; a continuous regular strip along a track looks like a hedge, not like an overgrown verge.
For modelers who are finishing a diorama or a base and need to heal the transitions between materials over. The darker position suits shaded places, the feet of buildings and the area under trees, where light greenery would read as unnatural.
The tufts are supplied as a scenic material to be glued onto finished terrain; glue and paints are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
