The PLAYMARKER pen, emerald

A pen from the PLAYMARKER range in the emerald shade, that is in a rich green named after the precious stone. The tip applies the paint directly, so a brush, a palette and mixing all fall away. That pays off with small areas and narrow elements, where preparing the paint would take more time than the painting itself, and also with short touch-ups for which it is not worth opening a bottle.

Where the color is used

A rich green is used where the color is to catch the eye: on the precious stones and jewelry of figures, on a cloak, a shield or a badge in the colors of a company, on glowing and magical elements of fantasy models and on color accents meant to bring an otherwise muted area to life. It also finds a use on the small parts of a diorama where a strong rather than an earthy tone is intended.

How to work with the pen

• Try the shade beforehand on an offcut, so that you know how it behaves on the base concerned.
• Work in thin coats; richness is achieved by going over it again, not by pressing harder.
• On a dark base a rich shade usually needs repeating more times than on a light one.
• Wipe a clogged tip, so that it does not carry paint from the previous area onto the model.
• Deal with thinning, cleaning the tip and any varnishing over according to the maker's directions on the packaging.
• Tighten the cap after work, otherwise the tip will dry out.

A pen in the shade given is supplied. Other shades, varnishes and tools are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise. Keep out of the reach of children and work in a well-ventilated room.
