This set from the Korean maker Tori Factory is a resin diorama base in 1:60 scale which imitates the deck of a space carrier in the style of science fiction films. Besides the base itself, the set holds a range of small scenic accessories with which the deck can be enlivened and your own model or figures set into it.
The subject grows out of the popular science fiction notion of the launch and landing decks of space-borne aircraft carriers. The diorama makes it possible to create a dynamic scene with deck crew, handling carts and other equipment of the kind that appears around fighters before takeoff.
First wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and cut off the casting blocks. Bond the base and the accessories with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The industrial, lived-in look of the deck is helped along by a base color, darker washes into the recesses, fine chipping and pigments to bring out the wear and the technical character of the surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
