1:32 Luftwaffe WWII Field Division

The real subject

The Luftwaffe field divisions were formed in the course of the Second World War from personnel the air force no longer needed with its squadrons and at its ground stations. They were deployed as infantry, although their soldiers had originally been through a different training, and later passed under the command of the army. That is exactly where their appeal for a modeler lies: infantry armament and an infantry task meet air force dress in them, so the figures look different from an ordinary foot soldier.

What the set contains

The package brings figures in 1:32 scale. For figures that is among the larger scales: an adult figure measures around five and a half centimeters in it, so the cut of the tunic, the equipment and the expression on the face all stand out. The set will serve for a scene of its own as well as an addition to vehicles in the same scale.

Building and painting tips

Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry; paint does not hold on a greasy surface. Check the adhesion of the base on one piece and only then paint the rest of the set. When painting, it pays to keep the difference between cloth and the leather parts of the equipment with a different degree of gloss. With a group of figures, vary the shades so that they do not come across as copies of one and the same figure; small departures in the tone of the cloth look more natural than perfect agreement.

Who it is for

For modelers who build ground scenes of the Second World War and want to get less usual figures into them, and for collectors of figures in a larger scale. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
