True Metallic Metal (TMM) is a line of acrylic (water-thinnable) metallic paints from the Spanish firm Vallejo, intended for painting the metal surfaces of figures, armor, swords, helmets, gold, silver, copper and bronze, directly with a brush. The result is a realistic metallic sheen with no need to master the demanding NMM technique, that is imitating metal with ordinary paints. The Core Set is the basic, wider palette of metal shades arranged into the Base, Shade and Light system; a brush and a printed guide that takes you through the technique come with the set.

Use

• The paints are acrylic and are thinned with water or acrylic thinner; they are applied with a brush.
• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the metallic pigment settles at the bottom.
• Metallics come out best on a smooth, even ground (a base color or primer).
• Work in the trio of Base, Shade and Light: the base, deepening the shadows and brightening the edges for metal with depth.
• Paint metal surfaces rather at the end, as they are harder to overspray and to mask.
