This is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for the build: a sheet of precisely cut masking templates of kabuki tape intended for a model of the Airbus A400M transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. The templates are lifted off the backing sheet, stuck onto the model, sprayed over with paint and peeled off once dry. That does away with the lengthy cutting of tape with a knife directly on the model.
New Ware grades its masking sets by scope. BASIC level covers the basic masking, ADVANCED level is the extended one that goes beyond the basic set, and EXPERT level is the most extensive form. The level therefore says nothing about the difficulty of the work but about how many areas of the model the set deals with. Compare the particular list of masked parts with the manufacturer's information, so that you know exactly what you are getting.
Sprayed glazing frames look more faithful than a decal imitation - they have no glossy film and no visible edge of carrier film, and the paint can be blended with the rest of the machine. Kabuki tape is a thin Japanese paper tape that conforms well even to slightly curved surfaces and does not tear the finish off when removed. Work by laying the templates down with tweezers, pressing the edges with a toothpick or a piece of tissue, spraying thinly and in several coats so that paint does not seep under the edge, and removing the masking shortly after the paint has flashed off, slowly and at a sharp angle back over itself. On a large transport machine it pays to spray the interior shade of the cabin first and only then the exterior color.
The set is an accessory to the build of a model. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
