A photo-etched metal set for the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 late version with rocket launchers, prepared for the Tamiya kit in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bf 109G was the most widespread series of the Messerschmitt fighter and was powered by the inverted V12 DB 605 engine. Late machines of the G-6 series differed from earlier ones in a number of small changes on the fuselage and on the canopy. The qualifier in the name points to the version with rocket launchers slung under the wings, that is, to armament intended against close formations of bombers.
The set brings photo-etched metal parts and the name ties it to the Bf 109G-6 late kit from Tamiya in 1:48 scale. Photo-etched sheet keeps a far smaller thickness than the corresponding kit part, so it is useful wherever plastic is necessarily thicker than the real thing. Which particular parts of the model the set adds to and how they are fitted is in the instructions enclosed with the set.
Cut the individual elements out with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand down the remains of the tab with a fine file. Make the bends over the edge of a ruler or in a bending tool, and guide small parts with tweezers rather than relying on your fingers. Use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) in the smallest drop for joining; polystyrene cement does not hold here. Degrease the surface before painting and go over it with a primer, then apply the coats of color thinly.
The set is for a modeler who has the Tamiya kit part-built and wants to add detail to it without an extensive conversion. Count on some of the parts being fitted before the fuselage is closed, so it pays to go through the instructions before you start building. In the package are the photo-etched parts alone; the kit, paints and glue are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
