Responsibility details are not available.
A large figure cast in resin for experienced modelers and figure painters. It captures a quiet genre moment, a soldier of the Eastern Front with a letter from home, set in the Crimea of 1943, in 1:16 scale. Royal Model is an Italian maker specializing in quality resin figures; the large scale lets the expression of the face and the detail of the uniform come into their own.
The fighting on the Eastern Front went on from 1941 to 1944 in the Crimea as well, where a number of extensive operations took place. Alongside combat scenes, figures also take in more civilian, human motifs; reading a letter from home is a reminder of the home front and of the everyday life of soldiers. The real subject puts the emphasis on atmosphere rather than on action.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that no mold release agent is left on the surface. Cut the casting blocks and supports off with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw, and never break them off. Sand the marks wet and always with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer; with a genre figure the expression of the face and the fine transitions on the uniform are the key, so paint patiently in layers.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted in resin. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
