A color 3D detail set from the maker Red Fox Studio in 1:24 scale which takes the place of or supplements the instrument panel of a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 fighter. The elements are produced as relief, three-dimensionally shaped decals with preprinted instruments and are colored in production, so they faithfully capture the dials, the lettering and the shades of color without a loss of detail. Thanks to the three-dimensional relief the panel looks realistic and offers readable gauges of a kind flat decals cannot manage. The set is designed for the Trumpeter kit.

The real subject

The Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 was one of the last production versions of the legendary German fighter from the end of the Second World War, with a more powerful engine and a number of aerodynamic and technical alterations. In 1:24 scale the cockpit stands out especially markedly, and a detailed instrument panel therefore shows strongly in the overall impression.

Use

• Cut the elements out carefully and seat them on the instrument panel of the model; they hold best on super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• The relief panels are colored, so laborious painting of the gauges drops away.
• For the maximum effect the gauges can be picked out lightly with a drop of gloss varnish imitating the glasses of the instruments.
