This injection-molded plastic kit from HK Models captures the American four-engined heavy bomber Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress in the big 1:32 scale. It is a large and richly broken-down model: at this scale it reaches respectable dimensions and offers a great deal of detail. It is a more demanding build suited to advanced modelers and collectors.
The B-17F was one of the main wartime versions of the Flying Fortress. These bombers formed the backbone of the Eighth Air Force's daylight strategic bombing over Europe. They were marked by armor, heavy defensive armament and a legendary toughness thanks to which many aircraft came home even with severe damage.
Glue the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic; on a model this large, take care that the joints of the fuselage and wings are firm and true. It is sensible to finish the interior and the glazing before closing up the fuselage. Apply primer before painting, spray the large areas with an airbrush and consider masking the glazed parts. Given its size, allow plenty of room for displaying it.
