An injection-molded kit of the Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka in 1:32 scale from Mikromir, a model of the Japanese rocket-powered special aircraft of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A short-run injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka rocket aircraft in 1:32 scale from Mikromir. Because the real machine was small, the model comes out fairly compact even in this large scale, but the detail of the cockpit and the airframe shows all the better for it. Short-run molds call for more careful cleaning up, so the model is better suited to more experienced modelers. Check the exact contents on the packaging.
The Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka was a Japanese rocket-powered aircraft from the end of the Second World War intended for suicide (kamikaze) attacks. The piloted machine, with an explosive charge in the nose, was carried under the fuselage of a bomber and, once released, accelerated toward its target under rocket power. The Allies mockingly called it Baka, the Japanese word for fool. It is one of the most distinctive and historically most sobering machines of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service.
Use thin cement for plastic and clean up the mold seams. Finish and paint the cockpit and the rocket section before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush will help with an even base coat and with bringing out the details afterwards.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
