Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Bronco Models which brings three assemblies together in one package: the British 6-pounder antitank gun in its airborne pattern, a light field car of a quarter-ton payload and a set of crew figures. Transport jerrycans and baggage for the hood of the car and decals for the vehicle, the gun and the equipment are included as well. The package therefore makes up a finished scene in itself.
The 6-pounder antitank gun of 57 mm caliber was among the most widespread British antitank weapons of the second half of the Second World War. A lightened and dimensionally revised version was created for airborne units, one that fitted into the hold of transport gliders: it had split trail arms, a shorter axle and a revised shield. It was precisely the light field car that served to move it about the battlefield, and the car also carried the crew and part of the ammunition. The combination of the gun and its towing vehicle is therefore a typical pairing of British airborne units.
Build the gun on a flat surface and watch that both trail arms bed down in the same plane, or the model will stand crooked in the display case. The field car has small suspension and frame parts that are better painted before being glued. Paint the figures separately and set them into the scene only at the end; faces are easiest done by layering lighter shades over a darker base. British equipment is finished in matte olive green, which is brought to life by a dark wash, careful chipping of the edges and dust pigments on the wheels and the lower part of the car.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
