Copper tow cable 1:35 (Voyager Model)

An accessory for building in 1:35 scale in the form of a flexible copper cable from which you make a faithful tow cable. It is not a model but a material accessory for finishing a vehicle. A tow cable was part of the basic equipment of tanks and of other tracked and wheeled vehicles and was used to recover bogged-down machines or to tow damaged ones; at rest it was usually stowed on the body, the fenders or the armor and secured in brackets. Copper cable has the realistic look of a real steel cable and, unlike a rigid plastic part, can be shaped freely, so the cable hangs naturally and sags faithfully where it is secured.

Use

• Cut the cable to the length needed for a particular vehicle.
• Set the ends into the eyes or end fittings of the tow cable (from your kit or accessories).
• Shape the cable freely along the body, the fenders and the brackets of the vehicle.
• If need be, the cable can be stretched slightly so that it holds a natural sag.
• Degrease it lightly before painting; metal is painted over a suitable base coat (a primer).
