A kit of a European-type farmer's cart from the Second World War period in 1:35 scale. A rewarding addition to a scene that gives it a civilian dimension.

A kit of a horse-drawn European-type farmer's cart from the time of the Second World War, in 1:35 scale. The model is assembled from individual parts and painted separately. The scale matches the most widespread ratio for military vehicles and figures, so the cart fits in among the other models in the same scene.
Through the whole first half of the twentieth century the horse-drawn cart was the basic means of transport in the countryside, and in many parts of Europe it stayed in use after the war as well. Carts of this kind did not appear only in the fields during the war: they carried fodder, timber and the belongings of people in flight, and armies routinely commandeered them to move supplies where a motor vehicle could not go or where there was no fuel. In a scene, a cart therefore works as a counterweight to military vehicles, because it brings in civilian life and the scale of human labor.
Follow the order in the instructions, because on a cart it is hard to go back to a joint that is later covered by the body. Try the subassemblies dry and make sure the cart stands level on all its wheels, otherwise it will be conspicuously tilted in the scene. When painting, reach for several close wood shades rather than one; planks never look the same. Worn spots and deposits of soil belong to the wheel hubs and the lower edge of the body.
The cart will be appreciated by a scene builder who wants to set the action in a village or on a road, and by a collector who enjoys subjects outside the mainstream of military vehicles. The build is undemanding and can be managed over a few evenings.
Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
