An injection-molded plastic kit of the American one-ton G-518 Ben Hur cargo trailer in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. The box combines injection-molded parts with a photo-etched fret and offers a version with the canvas stretched over the bed as well as without it. A small decal sheet for several marking options is included.
The G-518 Ben Hur trailer with a one-ton capacity was among the most widespread towed items of the US Army in the Second World War. Jeeps and trucks towed it and it was used to carry ammunition, supplies and field equipment in every theater. Thanks to its simple and rugged construction it stayed in use with a number of armies long after the war.
Thin cement for plastic and careful cleaning of the photo-etched parts are recommended. It is worth painting the running gear and the bed before final assembly. A matte olive drab finish forms the base, and washes and pigments for mud and dust effects stand out over it. The canvas can be brought out with dry brushing and gentle emphasis on the folds.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
