A kit of the German three-ton fuel tanker truck of the 3.6-36S type in the PmQ rendition, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The advance of armored formations is not stopped by the enemy but by an empty tank. That is precisely why fuel tankers were among the most valuable vehicles of the whole rear: without them the tanks stood still and a menacing force turned into immobile metal boxes. For this task the German army used ordinary three-ton chassis onto which a tank with a pump and hoses was mounted.
The type designation 3.6-36S belongs to one of the most widespread trucks of its day. It was built in enormous numbers in many body styles, from a flatbed through a workshop truck to ambulance and communications renditions, and the letters PmQ in the name refer precisely to the particular type of body and cab.
A truck is rewarding for a modeler: it has a pronounced cab, simple shapes and at the same time plenty of opportunity to show wear. A tanker moreover offers something combat equipment does not have: glossy traces of spilled fuel, trodden platforms and battered filler neck caps.
We recommend building the cab, the chassis and the tank separately and joining them only after the base coat. The frame with the axles is otherwise harder to spray all over, and between the tank and the cab places are left that a brush cannot reach. A finished truck is an ideal accessory to a scene with a tank or to a field refueling point. Supply equipment is moreover represented at exhibitions far more rarely than combat machines, so a well-built tanker among dozens of armored vehicles easily draws attention.
