An injection-molded plastic kit of the Israeli Iron Dome missile defense system in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the launcher unit with its blocks of launch tubes. The set contains parts on several sprues, photo-etched parts and metal wire for fine detail. It is an attractive subject from modern air defense.
Iron Dome is an Israeli air and missile defense system developed by Rafael, which entered service in 2011. It serves to intercept short-range rockets, artillery shells and mortar rounds aimed at inhabited areas. The system consists of a radar, a control unit and launcher containers with guided missiles; it has been used by the Israeli forces and by other operators.
Assemble the base of the launcher unit and the blocks of tubes separately, so that they can be painted well. Glue the photo-etched parts and the metal wire with cyanoacrylate. Apply the base coat with an airbrush over a primer; bring out the modern shades with light washes and a fine emphasis of the edges. Keep the dust effects discreet so that the technical character of the subject shows through.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
