Workable T-158 track links in 1:35 scale for the M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams models, made by 3D printing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams are American main battle tanks that have been in service since the 1980s and have gone through a series of modifications. The tracks are among the parts that changed during their service life, and the designation T-158 identifies one specific type. Before you start building, compare the track type with the vehicle version you want to build; on the model the running gear is visible along the whole side and the difference will not escape the eye.
The set holds individual track links in 1:35 scale, made by 3D printing, in a workable design. The links are joined one by one, so the finished track stays flexible, can be wrapped around the drive sprocket and sags naturally between the road wheels. The number of links per track and the way they are joined are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Print supports remain on the parts: cut them off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and lightly sand the area afterwards. The parts are not made of polystyrene, so polystyrene cement has no effect on them and you should use cyanoacrylate glue. Wash and degrease them before painting. Dry fit the assembled track first, check the sag and the way it sits on the wheels, and only then fix it in place. It is more comfortable to paint the track separately and fit it to the model once the running gear has been sprayed.
For modelers who are not satisfied with the tracks from the kit and want a more faithful shape and sag. Working with individual links calls for patience and tweezers. The model, glue and paints are not included, unless stated otherwise.
