Plastic kit of the American M1A1 Abrams tank in the configuration delivered to Ukraine, 1:35 scale. Workable tracks made of individual links are included.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M1 Abrams is an American main battle tank that differs from most of its contemporaries in its power plant alone: instead of a diesel engine it is driven by a gas turbine. The M1A1 version carries a 120 mm smoothbore gun. The suffix in the name refers to the configuration of the machines delivered to Ukraine, that is, to the form in which the tank entered an environment quite different from the one it was originally built for.
The tracks are made up of individual links which are joined together and stay movable. Working with them takes more time than with a one-piece track, but the result is worth it: the track can be seated naturally on the road wheel, wrapped around the drive sprocket and made to settle faithfully onto the ground, including sinking into a soft surface on a base.
Test-fit the assembly dry, remove the excess material and the manufacturing marks with a sharp blade and sand the surfaces. Clean the excess off the track links before you join them, otherwise the track will not assemble flat. Paint the running gear and the tracks separately from the hull, while the surfaces are still accessible. At the end it pays to bring out the edges and to add dust and mud on the running gear and the sides of the hull.
Paints, glue and filler are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
