An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M47 Patton medium tank in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The set holds glued rubber tracks, one figure and decals for six marking options, which leaves room to build machines of various Cold War armies. Check the exact number of parts against the instructions supplied.
The M47 Patton was an American medium tank of the early 1950s. Compared with its predecessors it brought better armor and heavier firepower in the form of a 90 mm gun. It was powered by an air-cooled Continental twelve-cylinder engine of around 810 horsepower. Besides the US Army it was used on a large scale by NATO armies and by other states; with a number of European units it stayed in service into the 1980s.
Assemble the running gear and the lower hull before closing up the hull. Glue the plastic parts with liquid cement; with the glued rubber tracks use a cement suited to that material and check the joint. Lay a primer. NATO tanks most often carried plain olive green, while some armies used multicolor camouflage. A wash in the details, dust pigments on the running gear and chipped paint on the edges will give the model a worn look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
