The set replaces the tracks on a model of the American M551 Sheridan light armored vehicle in 1:35 scale. These are workable tracks made up of individual links that are joined into a continuous whole. Against tracks supplied as a single piece they have two advantages: they can be made to sag naturally between the road wheels, and their links keep their crisp shapes on the inner face too, where you can see them on a finished model. The parts are printed, so the detail is carried more finely than an ordinary kit part allows.
First separate the links from the print supports with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the marks left by the supports; with small links go one at a time and check that the seating face is kept. Wash the print resin residue off the surface and let the parts dry, otherwise paint will not hold on them. The parts are not made of polystyrene, so glue them with super glue. Follow the instructions of the manufacturer for the procedure of assembly and the number of links per side.
It is practical to assemble and paint the track before you fit it onto the running gear, because afterwards you can hardly get at it. Shape the sag on the model and let the track set in position. Begin the painting with a dark base, and over it then bring out the edges and the faces that rub against the ground on the real vehicle.
The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
