This set of waterslide decals from Meng reproduces the texture of the zimmerit coating on the surface of the German Panther tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a model kit but an accessory that makes the otherwise slow creation of zimmerit much easier. The type 2 variant represents a different period pattern from type 1.
Zimmerit was an anti-magnetic paste applied to armor that prevented magnetic anti-tank mines from sticking. The pattern differed between individual vehicles. The decals carry the relief of the zimmerit in the form of a waterslide film with precisely shaped edges and openings for surface details. They are applied like an ordinary waterslide decal, but before the model is painted.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit in its own right. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
