The Panzerkampfwagen IV was the most numerously built German tank of the Second World War and the Ausf.H version is among its most widespread forms. It carries the long 7.5 cm gun with a barrel 48 calibers long, which could deal with its opponents at long range. Strengthened frontal armor and side skirts protected the hull and the turret against shaped-charge projectiles and against anti-tank rifles. It is precisely the skirts that give the silhouette of the tank its typical angular outline, by which the Ausf.H can be recognized at a glance. The early production form differs from later examples in details of the running gear, the exhausts and the tools on the hull.

Glue the suspension and the wheels on a flat surface so that the model finally stands on all its wheels. Fit the side skirts only after painting the hull, otherwise you will not be able to get behind them. Try the tracks dry before fitting and give attention to the sag of the upper run. The base finish of vehicles of this period tends to be dark yellow, over which patches are added. Conviction comes from a dark wash in the joints, lightened centers of the surfaces and dust settled from the bottom upward.
