The Pz.Kpfw.III was the backbone of the German tank forces in the first half of the Second World War. The Ausf.M version of 1942 and 1943 carried a 50 mm gun and was adapted for fording deeper water; it was typically completed by side protective plates (Schürzen) against armor-piercing ammunition. It was one of the last combat versions of the Panzer III and by then it was already facing ever more heavily armored Allied and Soviet tanks. The Panzer III was widely deployed on the Eastern Front, in North Africa and in the Mediterranean, and its chassis also served as the basis for self-propelled guns.
Finish the running gear and the lower tub before closing the hull. Use an airbrush for the German scheme; bring the side plates and the tools out with a wash and put pigments on the running gear for dust and mud effects. For a faithful frontline look it pays to suggest worn paint on the edges and traces of mud on the running gear. The Schürzen side plates change the look of the model markedly - if you use them, take care to fit them straight.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
