An injection-molded plastic kit capturing the marriage of the hull of the German Panzer IV in its late form with the narrow turret developed for the Panther, in 1:35. The set contains photo-etched parts and individual track links. The subject comes from the circle of projects that were never built, so the finished model stands out in a display case precisely because no such machine was ever produced.
The narrow turret was designed for the last development version of the Panther. It had a smaller frontal area, better armor at a lower weight and a more modern sighting system. Because it was lighter than the original Panther turret, mounting it on the hull of the Panzer IV, whose production was already running, was also considered. Series production never came about, as the war ended first. The model therefore rests on a period project, not on a machine that would have appeared in combat.
Finish and paint the running gear before you attach the Schürzen (armor skirts). Assemble the track links in longer runs and let them set in a natural sag. Bend the photo-etched parts over a metal edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Because this is a project, you are not tied to any particular photograph and can choose a late German camouflage as you see fit.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
