An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Sd.Kfz.234/3 heavy eight-wheeled armored reconnaissance car in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. This variant carries an open ring mount, the 2 cm Schwebelafette 38, with an automatic cannon in a raised hull. The model stands out for fine detail, photo-etched parts and a well worked out interior; the box usually offers several marking options. Check the particular contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Sd.Kfz.234 series was the high point of German heavy eight-wheeled armored cars of the Second World War. All the wheels were driven and steered and the vehicle had a driver at the front and at the rear for fast travel in both directions. The 234/3 version carried a weapon in an open superstructure, in the configuration shown here an automatic two-centimeter cannon on a movable mount. The vehicles were used above all for fast reconnaissance at the close of the war.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with thin modeling cement for plastic; glue the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint and highlight the hull interior and the mount before you close the open superstructure, because they are harder to reach later. Apply a primer, cover with an airbrush in late-war camouflage, bring the panel lines to life with a wash and add dust pigments to the wheels and the wheel arches.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
