A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the British Sherman Vc Firefly tank from Asuka (formerly Tasca) in a special edition with Polish army decals. The Sherman kits from this manufacturer are among the best rated on the market thanks to their fine tooling and precise assembly. The set contains photo-etched parts, a commander figure and decals for several vehicles including Polish markings.
The Sherman Firefly was a British conversion of the American M4 Sherman tank, into whose turret the powerful British 17-pounder anti-tank gun was fitted. It was precisely this weapon that made the Firefly one of the few Allied tanks able to destroy the heaviest German tanks reliably at ordinary combat ranges during the fighting in Normandy in 1944. The Vc designation corresponds to the British marking of a particular Sherman version. Fireflies were also used by the Polish armored units fighting on the Western Front.
Assemble and paint the running gear first, while it is still easy to reach. The tracks from this manufacturer are rendered as one-piece flexible tracks - allow for that when fitting them. For the patina, use dark washes in the recesses and dust pigments. Follow the enclosed instructions for the Polish markings.
